As part of our honeymoon during summer 2017, we visited Dubai on the return trip from the Maldives back to Glasgow. In Dubai, we stayed at the very cool ‘Atlantis, The Palm’ Hotel. The fact that the hotel has its own aquarium built into the walls, kinda sealed the deal for booking this particular hotel – and we would highly recommend it!
We were welcomed to the Atlantis, from the minute we landed into Dubai’s International Airport, as it seemed this hotel was advertised all over the airport!
The Room
Turns out that booking a hotel with ‘Honeymoon’ on your record has its perks, as we were upgraded to a room on the ‘Imperial Club’ floor. Totally a ‘Monica and Chandler on their honeymoon’ moment (hopefully everyone will get that Friends reference). You can just imagine our excitement at stepping into our room…
The balcony gives you the best of both worlds – views of the Palm and the Arabian Sea. Simply breath-taking.

The Decor
The decor in the lobby and throughout the hotel is themed around the lost city of Atlantis, with marine and oceanic references throughout.

The Walls of Marine Life
Now we get to the BEST part of staying at the Atlantis – the WALLS and WALLS of fishes, sharks, jellyfish – all kinds of aquatic creatures that you can view for hours on end (if you wished), in your pyjamas (if you really wanted to haha). Having an aquarium embedded in the walls of the hotel, was just amazing!
Lost Chambers Aquarium
If the walls of the hotel wasn’t enough for you, staying at the hotel gives you complimentary access to both the Aquaventure waterpark and Lost Chambers Aquarium. We didn’t have time to enjoy the waterpark, but didn’t miss out on the Lost Chambers Aquarium, where you literally get to sleep with the fishes.

Ossiano – Underwater Bar & Restaurant
The Atlantis has its own underwater bar and restaurant called Ossiano. If you’re staying here, you absolutely MUST give this place a visit, even if it’s just to have a drink, as it’s an experience that is unforgettable (unless you’ve already been to one of the underwater restaurants in the Maldives, then this might not be as exciting).
We went along just to have cocktails, but felt so glitzy and glamorous surrounded by the aquarium and the elegant decor. We can’t comment on the food, but the cocktails were certainly presented in an interesting fashion.
